The second season of the Russian Archaeological Mission to Luxor has started (Theban Tomb of Thay, TT 23)

November 4–27, Fayoum
The Russian Institute of Egyptology in Cairo along with the Institute for Bioarchaeology (San-Francisco) conducted the sixth field season at Deir el-Banat.

September 28–October 18, Alexandria
The Russian Institute of Egyptology in Cairo conducted the second season of underwater archaeological expedition to Alexandria.

December 9–30, Luxor
The Russian Institute of Egyptology in Cairo carried out the first season of study and conservation works at the Theban Tomb of Thay (TT 23).

December 3–6, Fayoum
The Russian Institute of Egyptology in Cairo along with the Institute for Bioarchaeology (San-Francisco) conducted a short study season at Deir el-Banat.

November 23, Cultural Center of the Egyptian Embassy in Moscow
Photo exhibition "Ancient and Modern Egypt" and presentation of Dr. Alexey A. Krol's book «Egypt of the First Pharaohs. Sed-Festival and Emergence of the Ancient Egyptian State».

September 19–25, Cracow
The XIIth Annual Meeting of the European Association of Archaeologists. The CES RAS in cooperation with Dr. Amanda-Alice Maravelia (University of Limoges) organized a session «European Egyptologists Gaze the Future». Contributions, submitted to this session, were focused on the latest archaeological discoveries and Egyptian collections in different museums. The session included presentations by Dr. Alexey A. Krol «Column Bases from Kom Tuman (Memphis)», Sergej V. Ivanov «A Bronze Figurine of a Priestess from the Mit-Rahina Bronze Hoard» and Edward R. Loring «Leather-Work in Egypt at c.1000 BCE.»

Septeber 14–November 19, Cairo
The CES RAS along with the Grabar Art Concervation Center (Moscow) and Aswan Est. for Construction and Reconstruction (Egypt) carried out the fifth stage of The Fine Conservation of Al-Mo'allaqa Church project.

March 1–29, Luxor
The Institute of Egyptology and Coptology of the Münster University and Russian Institute of Egyptology in Cairo carried out the final season of archaeological survey at the Royal Chache TT 320.

March 4, The Supreme Council of Antiquities - Cairo
Dr. Galina A. Belova gave a lecture on current archaeological and conservation projects of the Russian Institute of Egyptology in Cairo.

March 1, The Egyptian Museum - Cairo
Inauguration of the sculptural bust of Wladimir S. Golénischeff (1856-1947). The monument was installed in the A. Mariette Memorial among the busts of scholars, who made a significant contribution to Egyptology — J.-F. Champollion, A. Mariette, G. Maspero, R. Lepsius, E. Brugsch and others.

W. Golénischeff had devoted his life to study of history and culture of Ancient Egypt, collecting and systematization of Egyptian monuments. His collection counting more than 6000 objects, became the heart of the Egyptian collection of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow), and it is still considered to be one of the world best collections.

The installation of the monument was dated to the 150th anniversary of the Russian scholar. In the opening ceremony was led by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Egypt Mikhail Bogdanov, the Director General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Dr. Zahi Hawass and the Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikolay Plate.

Continuation of the traditions laid by W. Golénischeff is presented in the photo-exhibition, which is focused on the projects carried out by the Russian Institute of Egyptology in Cairo. The Exhibition is displayed in the Centenary Hall of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

Dr. Alexey A. Krol gave a lecture «Wladimir Golénischeff: to the 150th Anniversary of the Scholar».

February 1–26, Fayoum
The Russian Institute of Egyptology in Cairo conducted the fourth field season
at Deir el-Banat.

January 23, Cairo
The Russian Institute of Egyptology in Cairo has completed the fifth field season at Memphis.
