Projects

Since 1997 the CES RAS takes part in the international project «The Databank of Eastern-European Egyptology». The one of the main goals of this project are collecting, processing and putting into the databank information about Egyptian objects kept in the museum collections of the former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe and A.R. Egypt; and creation of Russian Egyptological thesauri. Details >>>>


In February 2004 the Centre for Egyptological Studies of the RAS along with the Grabar Art Conservation Center and the Aswan Est. for Construction and Reconstruction started the works on fine conservation of Al-Mo'allaqa Church in Cairo. Details >>>>


In 1998 the CES RAS started to work on the project «Study and Restoration of Coptic Icons». The project was initiated by The Netherlands Institute of Egyptological and Arabic Studies in Cairo, The American Research Center in Egypt and The Institute of Coptic Studies (A.R. Egypt) and carried out in collaboration with The Grabar Art Conservation Center. The main aim of this project is revealing, conservation and study of Early Christian monuments in Egypt.  Details >>>>


In 2003 the CES RAS launches the project «Alexandria before Alexander», the aim of which is collecting and studying the sources, connected with the history of Alexandria before 332 BCE.
