В сборник вошли материалы научной конференции, посвященной памяти известного российского египтолога Т.Н. Савельевой (1916-1999), среди которых статьи по истории и культуре древнего и средневекового Египта и стран Средиземноморья.

 Татьяна Николаевна Савельева прошла долгий плодотворный научный путь, оставив нам в наследство свои фундаментальные научные труды по социально-экономической истории и истории культуры древнего Египта. Ее научные интересы были связаны главным образом с эпохой формирования государства в Египте и периодом Древнего царства. К ней обращались за научной экспертизой древнеегипетских памятников, найденных во время археологических раскопок за пределами Египта. Наряду с индивидуальными трудами Т.Н. Савельева участвовала в коллективных монографиях. На протяжении многих лет Татьяна Николаевна составляла картотеку египтологической литературы, которая была важным подспорьем для работы отечественных египтологов.

Лирика. К столетию со дня рождения.

Сборник посвящен 100-летию со дня рождения известного востоковеда и педагога и неизвестного русского лирического поэта Всеволода Игоревича Авдиева. Научное наследие Авдиева велико и до сих пор не утратило своей актуальности: многие вопросы, впервые поднятые в его трудах, не нашли продолжения в отечественной историографии. Поэтому интерес к работам Всеволода Игоревича сохраняется и в наши дни.
Литературное творчество было частью многогранной натуры ученого, дополняло его научно-исследовательскую и общественную деятельность. Всего сохранилось более 500 стихотворений, ни одно из которых прежде не публиковалось. Крайне мало известно и о жизни этого человека, сделавшего блестящую научную карьеру. Восполнить пробелы — цель данного сборника, включающего биографический очерк, избранную лирику и полную библиографию Всеволода Игоревича Авдиева.

Egypt of the First Pharaohs. Sed-Festival and Emergence of the Ancient Egyptian State (in Russian)

The book is the first study entirely concentrated on the numerous problems of the Ancient Egyptian royal festival heb-sed. This festival was an essential part of the royal ideology during almost 3000 years of pharaonic history. However, despite the fact that it was celebrated by many rulers we do not have a complete version of the heb-sed ritual. Detached elements of the festival are scattered throughout various types of sources which cover a large period of time from the emergence of the state in the Nile valley up to Ptolemaic rule.

The heb-sed has become a kind of «communis opinio» in contemporary Egyptology being seen as a festival of the renewal of kingly potency and the reaffirmation of the divine descent of the king and thus the confirmation of his claim to the throne. It has also been suggested that the sed festival was a ceremony which averted the ritual killing of the king before he began to grow old and lose his physical and supernatural energies.
