Выступление А.М. Фридманн было посвящено «гильдиям» и ассоциациям, действовавшим в Египте на протяжении греко-римского периода и прямо или косвенно связанным с погребальным ритуалом. |

The fith season of archaeological researches on the tomb of Thay |

From the 1st to the 27th of January, 2011 the fifth season of archaeological work in the tomb of Thay (TT23, Luxor) was carried out. Clearing of the descending corridor of the tomb (shafts SE and SS2 and rooms 13 and 14, adjoining to them) was completed. Copying of texts and reliefs in the tomb and the study of finds discovered during the seasons of 2006-2011 (pottery, human remains, textiles, etc.) were continued in the course of the season. |

From October 30 to November 28, 2010 the Centre for Egyptological Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences in cooperation with the Institute for Bioarchaeology (Department of Ancient Egypt and Sudan, British Museum) conducted the ninth season of archaeological excavations at the site of Deir al-Banat. |

The eighth season of archaeological work at the site of Kom Tuman (Memphis) |

From March 6 to April 11, 2010, CESRAS carried out the eighth season of archaeological work at the site of Kom Tuman (Memphis). The study of a manufacturing complex, started in 2006, was continued. Simultaneously archaeological work in the eastern part of the site was initiated. Large accumulations of pottery dating back to the Roman Period had been discovered there. |

The fourth season of archaeological research at the tomb of Thay |

From December 27, 2009 to January 31, 2010 the fourth season of archaeological research was carried out in the tomb of Thay (Luxor). The major part of a descending corridor (shaft SN1, shaft SN2 and room 10, adjoining it, shaft SW and room 11, shaft SS and rooms 12, L1, L2, L3, L4; and rooms 4S.1, PNS and PNS.1) were cleaned during the season. The work was focused on completing the detailed architectural plan of TT23, copying of the texts, photographing and conservation of reliefs and finds. |

International Conference "Achievements and Problems of Modern Egyptology" |

The international conference «Achievements and Problems of Modern Egyptology», organized by the Centre for Egyptological Studies of the RAS under the auspices of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, took place in Moscow between September 29 and October 2, 2009. Its main goal was to discuss the latest achievements in the field of Egyptology, Egyptian archaeology, and of the latest hypotheses, put forward by scholars, specializing in the study of history, culture, religion and languages of Ancient, Graeco-Roman and Coptic Egypt. More than 50 leading Egyptologists and Archaeologists from many nations worldwide, including representatives of Russian and foreign universities and museums as well as directors of European and American Archaeological institutions, contributed to the success of this stimulating and historic event, the first Egyptological conference ever to be held in Russia.
